Knowing the importance of making visible female mapmakers, + Other Cartographies works as a digital archive to gather these women together. It’s an ongoing project which started in 2017.

The founder is Kiara M. Firpi Carrión, a PhD student interested in how maps made by women operate.

Due to the lack of resources and information of female mapmakers, + Other Cartographies tries to make visible in one place all the scattered information about these women and their maps. 

+ Other Cartographies works very hard to compile the female mapmakers and their maps for the users interest. It will be appreciated to credit the digital archive when used as the main source of these maps and women.
